Rescuing Seneca Crane
1 - End

Rescuing Seneca Crane is a novel about two best friends Kari and Lucas (who is a girl) who have to save there kidnapped friend. Kari, Lucas, and Kari's mom (Gillian) go to Scotland to see Orchestra Pasifica featuring Seneca Crane. Gillian is a writer for a magazine so she interviewed Seneca. Later that day Kari, Lucas and Seneca went to the main street, looked at the acts, and went to McDonald. When they were watching Scotty and Scotty Kari saw a man in a green shirt and man with a mustache. At the hotel Kari saw a man get really mad at the clerk because he couldn't get the number for Portree. Later, Kari finds out that this man was Paul Seneca's step father. (This is important later!) In the lobby a little boy, Parker came up to Lucas and started talking to her. His mother asked if they could babysit after the concert the next day. They said yes and told her Seneca would help too after the concert. Seneca played the piano beautifully at the concert and at intermission Kari and Lucas went out to congratulate her and Gillian had to leave with her friend Celia. Kari went to get Parker and when she came to the dressing room Seneca wasn't there. Paul was mad the she was not there and Edie (Seneca's tutor) told them not to tell anyone. Teresa (Seneca's mom) was crying. And them Kari found the guard knocked-out. Parker was scared but when they went to McDonald's he was very helpful. He said he saw Seneca get kidnapped. Two men one with a mustache and one with green socks. They took her to a dollhouse castle in the sky (whatever that means) And when the men weren't looking Seneca dropped a tarot card for Parker. The card looked like Edie. Later Kari and Lucas found out that the "Dollhouse castle in the sky" was really Dalhousie Castle on the Isle of Skye. They emailed Gillian and took a train to the Isle of Skye and the PORTREE hotel. They hiked to miles to the castle and saw Seneca. They herd a guard say that they would be moving Seneca in the morning so Kari and Lucas had to rescue her fast. Kari fell and scratched her check. They decided that they would climb up the wall and throw a fishing line up to Seneca with a note attached to a cork that said to pull them she who climb down and they would run back to the hotel. This plan worked except that it was stormy weather. She escaped and twins they met earlier saved them from the bad guys. Robbie and Jamie told them that Kari's mom was at the hotel. Kari was so excited. But when they got there it was Edie. She tried to her them but Gillian came just in time. Edie, Paul, Green Socks, and Mustache went to jail and Teresa and Seneca were going to move so Seneca could have a normal life. Kari, Lucas, and Parker got to see Seneca play one more time in New York. Kari and Lucas went back to St. Paul and they didn't get much credit in the newspaper.

This book was very good. It is the sequel to my favorite of all time, I might even like this book more. It was very clever and it was filled with a lot of action. The main character Kari reminds me of me. Lucas reminds me of Mikaela an Alex. This was a amazingly wonderful novel!

The Hunt for Dark INfinity
Haddon Antonucci

So far in my book Paul, Atticus, and Sofia were sent to the 4th reality (I think) they find themselves on what turns out to be a massive roof.THere is a giant floating message that gives them clues to where they are supposed to go. they wander around for a while then they go under the roof with this bearded guy.THey end up in this marketplace. HE brings them to a inn and some random guy walks up and tells them that they have 5 minutes to live. THen these spiders come after them and they figure out where they need to go. THey end up in a store with just a chair in it. They sit down in the chair. They dissapear and find themselves in a desert. There is a big glass tube that opens up every 30 minutes for 10 seconds. After waiting like 5 hours because there is a train thing that occasionally goes through it, they go in. THey fall onto a ledge. THis is where i stopped off.

I think the book gives a good picture in my head. It also always keeps me in the action. In some aprts though it gets a little childish

Animal Farm
by George Orwell
James

Well from what i read so far this story is about animals on a farm are trying to rebel against the farmer; Mr.Jones, but they really wanted to get rid of humans in general. this whole idea is started by this pig "Old Major" who talks everyone in to this idea by telling them how they die beauseb shes been there for twele years. she starts by say that the hens lay eggs for Man and don't get anything in return and says the same thing about cows on how they give thousands of gallons of milk every year. then he tells the horse when the horses get old the farmer cuts their throats and feed them to the fox-hounds and when the dogs teeth fell out and musles get weak as well they get tied to bricks and are drowned. afterwaeds sing a song that her mom used to sing about one day Man will die. then the farmer shoots his gun and everyone goes to asleep

i think the story is goin to get better because i thnik the pigs are goin to kill the farmer and all the other animals won't know about it.

Rikki Tikki Tavi

In Rikki Tikki Tavi a small mongoose helps a small family from Nagina and Nag two evil snakes. The family saves Rikki by taking him in after he was washed away from a flood. Rikki was very protective towards the boy of the family. He was very clever and smart. He meets a bird named Darzee who was very annoying with his constant singing and worrying. Rikki first saved the boy from a very small but very dangerous snake. Rikki jumped in to action and bite the snake on the neck and killed him. Nag and Nagina grew angery and wanted to kill the boy and Rikki. Since mongooses are very light sleepers when Rikki heard the noise of a muskrat roaming he springed out of bed and found him. While talking to the worry-some rodent he spotted Nagina sneaking into the bathroom Rikki sneaked up and heard her plan to take out the boy. But before she could get to the place she needed to be Rikki jumped and bite her neck and killed her with the assist of the boy’s father who shot the snake twice. Nag heard and wanted revenge. Nag was much bigger and stronger then Nagina so Rikki knew the only way was to outsmart him. He saw all of Nags eggs in the garden and decided what his plan would be. He asked Darzee to go pretend his wing was broken in front of Nag and then run away so Nag would chase. Darzee was to scared so his wife did it. This gave Rikki enough time to sneak into the garden and eat all of Nags eggs before they hatched. Being the smart mongoose he is he kept one egg hostage. Nag decided to give up on the bird and just go for the boy. Nag went into the boys bungalow and while getting closer to the stunned family. Rikki ran in with the egg. Nag couldn’t decide between killing the boy or saving his egg. while Nag was deciding the boy’s mother pulled him into safety Nag. Nag ran out grabbing his egg and Rikki chased him killed him in a ant hole.

I think Rikki is a very brave and clever. I know that giving a animal, people characteristics is wierd, but he is a very smart mongoose the way he thinks of these great plans.

Ice Hunt
Haddon Antonucci

Ice Hunt starts with Matt out in the woods, hunting. THen a plane lands and it has 2 people in it. 1 person is dead but a reporter is aliove. He is tryting to reach the artic to do a report on a discovered Russian base. 5 minutes later another plane comes and drops down soldiers. Matt kills 1 with his rifle and lures bears to the toher and he gets eaten.

He and the reporter went into the woods and found Matt's ex-wifes house. They ended up being found by the same plane and they take off in Jenny's plane (matts ex-wife). They went with JEnnys father. THey were pursued up until when they got to mountains. Then they lost them momentarily but they found them again. The other plane exploded when they went down this waterfall and skidded accros the surfaced.

They had escaped the plane and went to the nearest military base. After being there for a day however. The base was attacked again. Here is where i stopped reading about them, because it lalternated.

In the Ice Base everyone had gotten aqcainted, and they had set up bases in the tunnels called the crawl space. They had discovered creatures hidden in the Ice in the main cave. One of the members of the team went off skating but got killled by one of the creatures that had not been frozen with the others.

I like this book so far because it ends chapters on a cliffhanger, which makes you really want to know whats going to happen.

POP
finished
Alec Arena

In pop Marcus a football QB meets up with a former NFL super star Charlie. Little does Marcus know that Charlie has Alzheimer’s. And that he only reason he is with Marcus is because he thinks Marcus is an old high school buddy. Marcus figures this out and goes to find his real friend from college. His friend tells Marcus about them two in high school and how they were the stars of the football team and how Charlie was nicked name the king of pop. Pop was a move Charlie could do when he hit someone so hard it made a popping sound. Marcus brings Charlie to his old high school reunion and learns much more about him. They then go to a raider’s game. To see some of his old friends in action. Charlie thinking he is a high school boy instead of a 46 year old man. Climbed to the top of the Raiders stadium to grab a bird and falls and is killed.

This was a good book. I liked the talk about football and all the scenes were Charlie does weird things. I think Gordon Korman is a pretty good author. I think having Charlie dies is a good ending. Although he doesn’t make it very clear on what happened.

The Pigman
Chapter 5
Alex

In chapter 5, John says that he told Norton and Dennis that the Pigman found out it was a prank call. He tells them this because he knows that they would want some of the money. He then tries to convince Lorraine to get the money from Mr. Pignati, but doesn't push her. He soon gets her to agree. At home, his mom says that his father wants to talk to him about putting glue into the key hole of the lock on the phone. John lies and says it was the ghost of Aunt Ahra who did it. (Aunt Ahra is actually his second aunt who died in the house while living with the family). At the Pigman's house, Lorraine begins to feel badly for him. He says that his wife is away visiting his sister, and that he goes to the zoo everyday; he loves animals. He shows them how to memorize tens words by imagining a picture of the object, and then shows them. He also shows them his collection of phony pigs. Lorraine feels really badly when he gives "The L&J Fund" a lot of money.

I really like this book so far. I like how I get to hear what both John and Lorraine have to say, and what they think each other were thinking and why. I feel kind of bad for the Pigman, and I want to keep reading!

The Butterfly Revolution
Caleb
Im done

This book is about a boy named Winston Win who is a nerd and is sent to an all boys camp by his father. The point of Winnies dad sending him to camp was to make him more normal and to get friends. During his camp experiences he goes through many trials and triumphs. During the first couple weeks of camp all the kids at high pines (the boys camp) and low pines ( a girls camp down a mountain, recall LOW pines) take over the camp, throwing everybody that was in charge in the brig (it's like a jail). Winnie starts to get some friends through the revolution because of his high rank, due to his level of intelligence. But after some time the revolution turns south and kids started to kill each other. 4 people died on purpose. 2 were shot one was hung for killing 2 people and accused rape and the other was stabbed it the gut. One kid managed to escape high pines and tell the surrounding areas police what was going on. The kids were arrested, including Win, but his journal that he kept kept him out of trouble.

This book was a very interesting one, surprisingly. I think winnie made some very good choices even though during the revolution there was a lot of pressure.

Half Blood Prince
Pages 1-300

This book is the sixth harry potter book. Harry potter goes to Hogwarts and this year it's different.Professor Dumbledore has to get harry read to face voldemort. The reason harry is facing Voldemort is because he was in a prophecy. The prophecy says that the one Voldemort chooses as his equal, which would be harry will either have to kill or be killed by voldemort in the end. The is a big task put on his shoulder. In the past books, harry get away from voldemort many times so Dumbledore believes harry can do it. Since Dumbledore believes, he gives harry private lessons every monday. The first time harry goes, his thinks the lessons are going to be about magical defense. But he soon realizes, when he steps into the small room that the point of his lessons is not to learn to fight, but to learn Voldemorts weaknesses. Harry, every Monday, looks at old momories of Voldemorts life starting when he join hogwarts. He learns many things about voldemort's past. Throughout the beginning of the book, the encounter a bunch of little problems. One of those problems is that in the beggining of the year, harry finds a potions book with the name of the half blood prince in the cover. Obviously, unless you weren't paying attention to what you were reading, this is why the book is called the half blood prince. Anyway, this book that harry finds has a bunch of comments written on every page. These comment help harry make perfect potions while everybody else fail to do so. He becomes the teacher's favorite for no reason.

So far i like this book because, unlike the other books in this series, it doesn't have a clear path. What i mean by that is in all the other books, you can guess how it ends. An example is in the fourth book. About 200 pages in the book, harry accidently joins the triwazard tournament. I have no idea how it's going to end, but i dont think harry will win the tournament. It's impossible. I Was being sarcastic. So basically, this book is pretty good.

Half-Blood Prince
Done

I am now finished this book! I will now tell you what happened. (Even though you probably already know (because harry potter is cliched) Okay so where i left off was when i was talking about the book harry found. Well, he looks in that book for a long time. The next big thing that happens is that Malfoy, Harry's enemy starts snooping around in the middle of the night. Harry knows this because he overheard him talking about it. Harry tries to find him but can't because he's in this untraceable room. Harry figures this out because he had been there the last year. So harry trys a lot to find out but he can't. Once, harry get close. But malfoy finds out. Harry then battle malfoy. He then used one of the half blood prince spells. He didn't even know what it did. This speel was called sectumsempra. It made malfoy bleed.

Now back to harry's story. Harry keeps doing lessons with dumbledore. One day dumbledore asks harry to retreive this memory from one of the professors. He does this after two weeks and when he gives it to dumbledore the look at it. It was of voldemort asking the teacher about horcruxes. Dumbledore wanted to know this. They realize that horcruxes are a way to split your soul to eep you alive forever. The way they have to defeat voldemort is to destroy all his horcruxes and then kill him. The find one but realize it's a fake. Then when they get back, dumbledore is weak because he drank poison to get the horcrux. He goes up to his tower and Malfoy tries to kill him but he cant because he's a kid. Snape then kills him.

This book is very serious unlike the other books. This is the reason why most people like the other ones better, but its actually the reason i like this better. Serious books just make me have a reason to read (To find out secrets) and if i don't have a reason to read, i get bored.
